A soft smile spread over Harley's red smudged lips, she knew that she took on great risk to herself every time she tried to get close to her Joker, usually he was not one to just let her get close to him, to touch him like she was right now. It felt nice as he took one of her hands and placed a soft kiss onto the back of her hand. She knew at that moment that he truly did love her the way she loved him and more importantly that he had missed her when they had been part and that thought warmed and melted her heart.

"Yes puddin!...they are always jealous of us...of what we have!"

[The past - The road to mad love]

It had only been three weeks since Harleen Quinnzel had passed all of her long and grooling examinations at the highest standing university within Gotham city, the place that she called home. It had been three weeks since she had found that she had passed all of her exams and tests with flying colours with the highest of honours within all of her classes and was more than qualified to take any job offered to her. The blonde had received many working opportunities for all around the country but when she got the offer to come and work within Arkham Assylem, she jumped at the chance to work there, a place she knew well as the most hostile and hardest place you could work. Harleen knew all to well how dangerous of a job it would be to work in such a place with such criminals that where caged and held within the Assylem.

It didn't take long for her to be invited inside the Arkham and she was given her white coat a I.D badge and a set of keys to get herself around the Assylem without the need for the guard officers to be by her side the whole time. Being given her very own office, she was given a certain amount of patients that would be within her care, and the first name on the list was 'The Joker' She had heard a lot about the clown crime prince, the murders, the gang wars and his constant war with the anti-hero Batman. She had never seen this Batman as a hero the way that people say, he was a bully and didn't really help anyone, he just made a mess were ever he went. Shaking her head she cleared her mind of such thoughts.

It had been almost one week since she had been within Arkham walking around confident and beautiful knowing her job inside out no one would be able to do it better than she. That day she wore her long blond hair up in a pony tail, a purple short sleeved shirt, grey skirt that stopped above her knees, and black six inch high heels to give her small frame some height. Finally today was the day she had been fighting for ever since she had come here, to come face to face with the Joker himself with just him and her within the room as much as the warden refused she had made a good case, she wanted to help him and that was what she intended to do.

The time had come for her first session with the Joker, she held a pad for taking notes within, and a black pen in her skirt pocket. Slowly she walked down the long hallways of the Assylem, her heels clicking as she walked to the room the Joker had been taken to in wait for her arrival. Slowly she opened and closed the door and took a seat across the table from him. Taking in everything about him. He looked like he was still in a lot of pain and that some how broke her heart. Hearing his words she smiled a gentle warm smile even though he didn't look at her.

"My name..Is Harleen Quinnzel...It's a pleasure"

========

[Mad Love]

He never raised his head to look at her, he just hung it down as she spoke her name to him, he voice was soft, soothing and trusting as well, different from the rest of the worms that crawl into these meetings with him and try to pry him open and take his secrets. He continues to keep his head low as she goes through the normal routine, asking him his name, causes a low growl to pass through his damaged lips. His date of birth, again got no response, that was something he would not so easily give up to anyone. Asking where he was from would also gain no response. It was always the same with all of them, they had no idea who he was, no one did. He was a mystery, no finger prints, no ID, no name, nothing, even his blood was different, he was not like anyone else, he was one of a kind and doctors from all around the world came to look at him and try to get anything out of him and they all failed. He just continued to hang his head low, his hair a mess, his attitude a mess, everything about him at this point in time was a mess.

"Blah...Blah...Blah...Blaaaaah..."

That is the only thing he gave her, not even once looking at her when her note pad was put on the table. He knew like the rest she was not pleased and the door opened and the guards came in and pulled him to his feet. His head jilted upwards as he was dragged out of the office, but in that moment he locked eyes with his doctor for the very first time and right away he could tell she was different than the rest. She barely even looked like a doctor, she looked like she did not belong in a place like this, someone that really did stand out and as he was dragged out of her office, he just stared right at her with his cold eyes, she was different and he wanted to know why.

It was three weeks since the first meeting and he has been isolated from everyone. He was not spoken to or had any contact with anyone, they did not want him to know what was happening on the outside world without him, he was to be left to rot in Arkham and that is the way it was going to be. He merely waited in his cell as again the guards came for him, putting his straight jacket on and ensuring he was secure, they may not have noticed anything, but there was something different about him. As he was being taken to the doctor's office, other nurses in the hallways and inmates and staff would point at him and share whispers with one another, he had somehow even with him being in lock down had managed to put a new tattoo right on his forehead, 'damaged', and yet that was not the worst of it, even his hair was different, slicked back in back in place, the way he liked it. He kept his mouth shut as he was forced down on the chair in the office as the female doctor once again came in and dismissed the guards.

"It's been three long weeks...I thought you had given up on me..."

His words where soft, calm and trusting as this time he kept eye contact with her, his green eyes never leaving her own as every word that came out of his mouth she could notice that there was defiantly something different. His teeth where back, the ones missing replaced with metal and the ones broken and chipped filled in with the same metal, it did not look cheap and poorly done as well, a good deal of money had went into fixing his smile and his face and having been alone for three weeks in a cell and having managed to do this and add a new mark to his body, it brought up alot of questions.
"I gotta say...you don't look like a doc...but I never judge a book by it's cover...maybe you can help me...maybe you can do something with my secrets...but at a price..."
It was the most he has ever said to any doctor this long in, normally he waits for longer to speak, maybe he just lies to them right from the start, but this was different, he was being serious, his tone was rather serious as well, but he made sure not to scare her away like so many others before, this one he wanted to keep around to speak to. Even with him being forced onto the chair, unable to move, he would lean over the table a little bit as he looks at the door and then back at her and gives her just a little smile, but one that he knows she will remember.

"I will answer your questions...only if you let me ask you questions...knowledge for knowledge...you want to know me...the real me? Then I got to know you? Hmmmm?"

========

[Mad Love]

A soft warm smile spread over her pink lips as she spoke her name, she didn't quit know what to expect from him, of course she had read the large heavy file that was about him in her office but she didn't really find it helpful after all no doctor got past the first session with him. Harleen was determined to be the first to actually get through to him, to be the one that would just help him without any interests other than his well being. She asked him many generic questions, things she thought would be important to record. She asked his real name, his date of bith and his place of birth but all resulted in no response from the Joker infront of her. Finally after what seemed like most of the session, he spoke if you could call it that. Lightly she placed her note pad onto the table, clearly this wasn't then again she didn't think that it would with all the doctor that had come into this room and tried to force information out of him. She parted her lips to speak when the officers came in and dragged him out of his seat, being much more rough than she would have liked.

"Come on please..Don't hurt my patient"

Harleen pleaded with the guards she was sure that her request was falling on deaf ears, but that didn't matter to her. Once the Joker had been dragged to his feet, her eyes for the first time locked with his own. He was more different than what she imagined he would be now that she really got to look into his eyes, a light pink flushed her ivory soft cheeks. She had never before looked as deeply into another's eyes as she had with the Joker before he was taken from her sight. There was nothing that she would be able to do for him, and she would just have to wait to their next session together to see how he had been treated. But the warden prevented her from seeing him again for three weeks. No matter how much she asked to be reunited with him it was the same answers she got. NO.

Finally three weeks had passed and she was told that her session with the Joker she had pencilled in would go ahead this time. A smile spread over her lips as she left her note book behind this time as she made her way to the very small small room that had glass on every side of the room, a table and two chairs was all that was within the room. She walked down the hall at a more quickened pace her heels clicking with every step she took. Finally she entered the room and the guards left her to work, she sat herself down on the chair opposite of the Joker her eyes taking in the differences to him that she could see. His teeth had been fixed at least as much as one can be, his smile was perfect with metal teeth inserted, he had a new tattoo on his forehead that read 'Damaged' This shocked her, how he had even managed to add this mark onto his skin in that cell of his. Hearing his words, brought her out of her trail of thought. The smile he gave her as he leaned himself over the table, she slowly leaned over the table coming closer to him, she could sense that right now he would not hurt her, he wanted to open up to her only if she did the same with him, something no one else had ever been offered before and that interested her.

"You want to ask me questions?..Okay I ask you one question and you can ask me one in return! What's your name?"

========

[Mad Love]

He didn't expect her to play along with him, but he liked the unexpected and in turn he liked her. He kept himself leaned forward, over the table as he watched her do the same, it was only whispers, he did not want anyone on the outside of that door hearing him and her, he didn't want this to end before it started. She was the only one who was not all business, the only one who stood out from the rest and in his eyes, if you stand out from the rest, then you are special. When she agreed to speak to him on his own terms, the little smile on his face grow a little bit bigger as he sat back down on his chair and watched as she did the same, his eyes glancing down to the table, seeing that there was no notepad or pen or anything of that sorts, it was all rather interesting. To come in here like that, maybe it was a trick, maybe she was playing him to get information, but this was new and he liked it.

"You have no idea how many times...I am asked that question."

He nods his head a little bit, it was a rather boring question for him, one that has been asked over two dozen times by countless faces not worth remembering. They all wanted to know, but she could be the first to know, as the way she spoke, he just watched her lips move and it fascinated him, everything about her got him feeling, rather odd. He liked her lips, her voice, the way she spoke to him, it made him feel uncomfortable to be spoke to like a person and not like a lunatic. He didn't understand what was wrong with himself right now, it was something new, something fresh and he was not sure if he liked it or hated it, but he was going to continue with all of this to find out what made him feel so different. The truth was he was far more interested in just her than her questions. When she waited for his reply, his eyes glanced down to her body as he looked her up and down undressing her with his eyes and he liked what he saw. She tried to hide what was under the heavy white coat and the whole doctor look she had going, but he knew what was under there and he liked it.

"Did anyone ever say that you looked good enough to eat...lucky for you I am a vegan...ha...ha...ha."

He broke everything up with a joke, a small one, but one that worked as it brought a smile to her face and perhaps a hint of flattery as well. It was the first time he had laughed in one of these sessions as well and he kept it low for only her and her alone to hear.

"My name now...I could lie to you...give you just any name...but I know your smarter than the rest...you would see right through it."

He breaks his gaze as he looks around the room, just staring at the walls, the ceiling, anything really other than her, because to open up and be truthful for once, it was new and a little bit painful for him and when he feels pain he feels anger and when he feels anger, things go south really really badly and he did not want this to end up as all the other sessions.

"Truth is doc...I don't remember my name. As much as I try to remember...it never comes to me. You even know yourself that I never called myself 'Joker'...it was a name the papers gave to me...they thought they were so clever labelling me like that...funny thing is I liked it..."

He would continue to just stare around the room, his voice breaking at times as he spits the words out, to try to remember anything about the past, anything about who he was or what he was before all of this, it caused him pain as he could not remember. So many lies where told, so many stories he span about who he was before all of this, it got to the point where he never knew there the lies ended the truth started.

"I am sorry that I cannot help you on that one...but if you want...you can call me...J...to make up for me getting your hopes up..."

He then finally looked at her as now it was his time to ask her something. She knew he was telling the truth, the fact of the matter is that he has no name, he is not what he once was, that person died when he was born and when he was born he was branded with the 'Joker' name and that is who he is now. He cracks his head from side-to-side. His body aching and killing him in the straight-jacket as he looks one more time to the door and then back at her as he knew that this session could end at any time.

"Who are you? The real you? I don't believe a pretty girl like you...should be in a place like this...I bet your friends also wonder what you are doing here...your man as well...or woman...whatever you are into....so doc...tell me...tell me what a girl like you is doing in a place like this..."

[Mad Love]

Harleen knew all to well that most if not all doctors would never have agreed to his terms, to allow him to ask her any kind of question in return for answers about himself, it would look to anyone like he had her right were he wanted her, that she had failed to break him, and that she was being unprofessional around a killer and mad man like the Joker. But she didn't agree because she wanted to break him, no it was far from that, she wanted to get to know him, understand him to the deepest parts of his being and to be able to help him in every way she could no matter how hard or easy it would be to do so. The blonde doctor knew that he would have been asked all of these questions before, his name was her first question but it wasn't about his name, she wanted to get him thinking about something from his past to feel that emotional connection with him. She could see the pain within the way he looked away from her warm gaze, to look anywhere other than her. She could see how uncomfortable he felt being around her and talking about his past with her finally opening up for the first time, and telling her the truth she knew it had to be hard and painful for him something that he could not be used to feeling and doing with anyone.

She couldn't help feeling heart broken and sad for him, he couldn't remember his name or much about his past. How could you know who you really are without the most basic thing that sets you apart from everyone else. Your name, something that everyone should have at the very beginning of their lives. Slowly she leaned forward a little more and stood up off of her seat and came around the table behind him and locked the door from her side. She wasn't having anyone coming in here until she was ready for someone to enter. A bright smile spread over her pink lips as he told her that she looked good enough to eat. A light pink flushed her cheeks she wasn't used to any kind of attention and he was giving her more than she'd had in her life.

"Well that's...very sweet of you Mister J"

She said softly, she of course didn't have the highest of hopes when she had come in here, she thought that he would just go back to ignoring her and not answering any of her questions. Inhaling a deep breath, she knew that since he had answered her question about his real name that now like she had promised she would have to answer whatever question he put out there for her. Harleen was very honest and she always kept her word and that was something that she would have to do now, she wouldn't break the trust she had gained with him. Listening to his question she nodded her head taking a moment to think of the answer she wanted to say.

"I hope you don't mind...but I can't have a conversation like this. Hold still please!"

She said as she slid herself off her seat and came round the table to stand behind him and with care she unbuckled each strap till she took off the straight-jacket that held him still in his seat. She inhaled a deep breath, she knew she would be in a lot of trouble for doing such a thing but she couldn't stand to look at him that way especially since she knew he didn't need it at least not when he was around her. Finally she walked back around the table and took her seat placing her hands softly onto the table, she pushed her black framed glasses up the bridge of her nose with her index finger.

"Your question...well I don't have any friends, and I don't have a man or women in my life..I'm single by choice, there's no out out there that interest me...I guess I wanted to meet you Joker..prove your not crazy help If I could..In any way I can. Your not crazy you know..Just different!"

========

[Mad Love]

"Different...ha...I like that."

He kept his eye on her the whole time, as she walked over to him and loosened his straight jacket to the point where he could easily slip his arms out and stretch them. So many thoughts ran through his mind. There was at least a dozen ways he could have killed her, even more ways to escape if he took her hostage as well, time slowed down, almost to a complete halt as he summed up everything as quickly as possible, he could escape, rather easily now thanks to her stupid mistake, to let him loose from his jacket, was a risky move and as she sat back down all she heard as his chair move just a bit, her heart must have skipped a beat or two at that, but all he did was just lean back into his chair and arched his back a little bit, letting it crack as it felt so good to have the straps removed from him. He just loosened himself up a little bit as he listened to her speak a little bit more about herself.

"Who needs the rest of them...when you got me...I'll be your...friend..."

He gives her another little smile as all you could hear was the clock ticking away as the two hour session went by so quickly as they spoke about little things, nothing important, she did not press him for any more information, they just talked about nothing at all and she could tell he enjoyed it. When the time was up he looked at the door as he knew they would unlock it and take him away. He slipped his jacket back on and just sat there and waited for them to take him away from her, but before they did, he chanced his hand one more time with her to see if he could get her to do something for him, something that no one with her job title should do for someone like him.

"If you could do me one little thing...I have not had a drink in a very long time..."
He then ran his tongue slowly across his lips as he kept eye contact with her, not even blinking as she merely raised and eyebrow at him as he knew what she was thinking, thinking that he wanted alcohol and that caused him to chuckle a little bit.

"Oh no, no, no, no, it is not what you think...I don't ever touch the stuff...never cared for it...they only give me water and well...if you could bring me a gift...a grape soda...I will tell you whatever you want..."

He smiled again, this time a warm smile as his eyes narrowed down as he just gazed at her, being lost in her eyes, or was she being lost in his, it was hard to tell? But the door quickly opened and the session had ended and the guards removed him. It was different guards this time, seems his new ink on his head and his new metal teeth had caused some people to lose their jobs. He was quickly removed from her and tossed back in his cell to do nothing at all but to stare at nothingness. He did not want to wait another three weeks to talk to her again, that would not do, he barely even wanted to wait a week to speak to her, to have another session. So imagine his surprise when this time it was only a week before the next meeting. He knew it would be fast this time, he had left her something in her office a few days ago, a half dozen roses on her desk with a simple gift card that only had 'J' on it. He knew she got them and he knew she kept it secret as no one came to question how he got out of his cell, how he got to her office, how he even got roses and a pen and all of this unnoticed as well. Again it was the same routine as he was taken to her office and forced down onto the chair. The guards again left him as he looked at the door, just watching and waiting like a dog for its owner to return and when the door opened he just smiled.

"Seems someone missed me."

[Mad Love]

Harleen Quinnzel knew all to well that she was playing a very dangerous game when she loosened the back of his straight-jacket. Anything could have happened, he could have killed her right on the spot in many different ways that much she was sure of , he could have escaped and used her as a hostage to help him escape and she knew that he knew it to and yet he did nothing other than move his seat in order to lean back and get more comfortable in the new room that she had provided him with. She didn't know what had made her so something like that, she just knew some how that even without his restraint's that he would not try anything with her, and that he would not hurt her or do anything that would force the session to be ended prematurely. A soft smile played beautifully against her pink lips as he said that he would be her friend, she really did believe that , he would be her friend if that was what she wanted and some part of her had already admit that she wanted that, and some how wanted more than that from him. She knew she wasn't supposed to feel that way, no one should feel that way about her Joker. When did she start thinking of him like this and when did she think of him as HER Joker!? She asked herself.

No more would she press him for information that he didn't want to share of his own free will, she didn't want to force him to do anything he didn't want to, she didn't want to see pain in his eyes again. She talked with him about little things, things that no doctor would really even ask about she wanted to get to know the man behind the Joker name, instead of asking about why he was the way that he was, she asked about what he liked and didn't like, what he did for a living on the outside, how he was since their last session three weeks ago and if he was being treated right. All that could be heard was the 'tick tock' of the clock hands going around as the two hour session was almost over and it would be another three weeks till she was meant to see him again, but how could anyone wait that long! she wondered as she looked deeply into his eyes, she completely lost herself within those amazing eyes of his, she knew all to well how she could easily just sit there and gaze into his eyes for the rest of her life and she would have if that was possible. Quickly she was brought out of such thoughts that had filled her mind, as he spoke of a favour in the form of a drink. She could feel her heart racing hard within her chest as her tongue ran over his lips, lips she wanted to touch, his lips she found hard to look away from now.

"You just want a soda? I mean sure I can get that for you Mister J..that's not a problem I'll bring it with me next time!"

Harleen promised, Slowly she reached her hand over across the table and placed a hand softly against one of his . Seeing the door open she pulled her hand back as he was dragged once more from his chair but a warm smile this time pressed against his lips, such a smile that now melted her heart, and a smile that she had grown to love and longed to see again. Once he had been removed from the room she fell back against her chair, the back of her hand pressed against her now burning warm cheeks. She knew in that moment she was blushing because of him. Quickly she left the room and continued back to her office.

One week had passed since she had been face to face with her Joker, seven days to long in her mind, she never wanted a day to pass when she couldn't be with him. All this week thoughts of Joker had invaded her mind and prevented her from focusing on her work. She had gotten the warden to agree to let her see him at least once a week. She had gotten a dozen roses in a beautiful vase, with a note that simply had one letter on the card 'J' She could not help but smile and smell the roses knowing all to well who had sent them to her, she hid the card within her doctors coat pocket and pulled a kitten small stuffed toy into her pocket for the Joker to brighten his day as she quickly with a smile on her lips she headed straight for her and her Jokers own private room, were she knew he would be sitting in the same chair as always waiting on her. Walking into the room, he smiled at her making her smile all the more as she sat down at the table opposite him.

"I have..missed you I mean. Talking with you, Didn't you miss me?"

========

[Mad Love]

"I long for these sessions with you Doctor...it is the only thing...keeping me going in this place..."

Again he sat still as he watched her like before get up and walk towards him, the walk around the table took forever as he knew she was taking her time just for him, letting take her all in as she went behind him and undid his jacket for him. His arms slipped out and he placed them upon the table as she then placed something before him, the soda he had asked for. She even opened it for him and everything as she walked back around and sat down in front of him.

"I knew you would come through for me..."

He would take the drink and take a few mouth fulls, he had to admit it tasted so good as well, been a very long time since he has had a cold drink and like he said, he kept his promise to her. He told her things, things he never told anyone before. He told her almost everything, that he was a nobody, just a guy who got caught up in the wrong crowd. He just needed money to get buy, to make it in Gotham City, after all the city only favoured the rich and powerful and everyone else, well they were left to rot in the gutter. He wanted out of the gutter, he wanted to just be a normal person with a normal job, but he needed to get out of the trash first and he got caught up in the Red Hood Gang.

"They ran things...the streets...the clubs...the woman...everything...they brought me on...I think just to laugh at...to make them smile...someone like me...with guys like them...they found it funny."

He grunts a little bit as one of his fingers began to tap on the table, his index finger that would normally have his 'J ring' on, a symbol of who he was and where he came from, a symbol of his power, because no matter who where, everyone bent the knee to him and kissed his ring out of fear and respect, but back then he was nothing to them, just a young kid way out of his league, doing little jobs at first, nothing serious. Stealing cars, robbing local shops, beating up people who never paid back there loans, the stuff they gave to people who where worthless.

"They gave me table scraps...and I was happy to have them...they where powerful...I could never say no to them...who would miss a guy like me anyway? They soon found out about where I used to work...then things got rather interesting...they wanted to get into that building and they offered me everything I wanted to get out...and I jumped at the chance. You see the gang...it had a leader...the Red Hood...but it was just a mask, a suit and a red cape and that was it...different members would wear it....so no one was really in charge...the gang could never be stopped...because there leader was everyone...they gave me the outfit and told me to take them to where I worked and then..."

He stops talking all of a sudden as he would then just stand up. He looked down at her as her head tilted up to look at him, she was hanging onto his every word wanting more from him and he would not give her it. He walked towards her, slowly not to scare her and when he got close he merely sat on the side of the table and he placed his hand upon her own. as he then took his drink and placed it before her, for her to drink to calm her nerves.

"I want to tell you more...but time is almost up...and I need another favour....something bigger than a can of soda...I have....a cleaner....his name is....Frost....he looks after my place and everything else....I need you to send him a message for me in a few weeks time...tell him...hmmm...tell him...I am homesick...."

He would then move his other hand and he would move it closer to her, it looked like he was about to run the back of his hand down the side of her face, to feel her warm skin, but instead he placed it inside her pocket. He felt the stuffed animal, such an innocent gift, but he ignored that and removed the 'J' card and turned it around to her as he rubbed the back of it a little bit to remove the white markings on it to reveal an address. He held it up to her face, hoping she would do this one thing for him as he then placed it back in her pocket and slowly moved away from her and sat back down as he slipped his jacket back on.

"Do this for me....and I will tell you...the rest...everything..."

He smiled that shiny smirk again as he then spoke a little bit more, keeping his promise to get to know her, where she was from, who her family was, how she got into this line of work and how someone like her was alone in the world. He listened to everything she had to say and she could tell he was interested in what she told him, he was just staring, studying, learning, enjoying everything about her.

"Soon...they will demand reports from you...progress...they are going to hurt me...I heard the doctors say it is the table for me again...a good old bolt of electricity to make talk...shock therapy...ha....and I'm the crazy one...you have to delay that for me...because if that goes through...our sessions will be over...tell them what they want to hear...please...Harley..."

He dragged her name out, almost purring it to her as he hung onto every single word as he spoke it. Again like before he was removed from her, but he knew as he was taking away from her again, that she would get them more sessions, she would do it for him.

========

[Mad Love]

A soft smile spread over her pink lips, a light pink blushing at her ivory soft cheek, and her heart rate increased from his flattering words, he longed for these times with her, the times when they could talk and be together, at least as together as they could be even though she longed for more with him. Walking inside she pulled a extra cold can of grape juice out from her pocket and placed it infront of him, and opening it for him as well, before she came behind him and unbuckled the back of his straight-jacket once again, allowing him to free his arms and for him to relax within the chair at the other end of the table. Slowly she walked around the table and took her seat across from the Joker. She smiled seeing the smile on his face as she heard his comment that he knew she would bring the juice he had asked for.

"Your welcome mister J..I'm glad that I can help!"

Harleen said softly. Not once did she take her eyes off of him, she watched as he took a few mouth fulls of the juice. she could tell that was just what he had been needing, and the enjoyment on his face. Harleen listened to every words that came escaping through his lips. How he was just some kid that got taken in by the red hood gang, how they treated him worse than some kind of animal begging for scarps at their tables. It broke her heart that he had such a hard and nasty start to his life and how those experiences had changed him from the very beginning. She knew that no one had ever heard the stories that he now spoke of to her, she could tell that he was telling her the truth with everything he had told her just like he had promised in return for the cold juice that she had brought to him like she had promised to do.

Harleen was hanging onto his every word, she wanted to know everything about him, and not because it was her job to find out about him, and not to be published in the history books, but because she really cared for him, and she knew she had fallen in love with the Joker and that was the real reason why she had given him the juice and if he asked anything of her and she knew that she would do it without even thinking about it. Her eyes widened slightly as he stood and stopped talking suddenly. Her heart raced fast her nerves getting the better of her as she looked up at him through her glasses. She watched as he sat down at the side of the table his hand touched her own and placed his drink in front of her to drink if needed. She inhaled a deep breath as she lifted the can and took a small few sips before placing it back onto the table. Listened to his second request, her eyes never left his eyes.

"I know time is almost up...You want me..Me to talk to your cleaner? Okay I'll do it for you!"

She admit as he went into her pocket taking the car with his initial on it, and rubbing the back and exposing an address, his address before putting it back into her pocket. She licked her lips as he moved back to his seat and put his straight-jacket back on knowing full well he would be taken from her again. After a few moment she answered anything that he asked about her life, why she was alone, why she went into this line of work, all about the family that was no longer alive, and all about the place she was from. Hearing his words about what the assylem would want, that they would hurt him again using shock therapy to force him to speak, she would not allow that to happen again to him, if that happened she would most likely never get to see him again and the thought broke her. Hearing that he called her 'Harley' dragged the word out she kind of liked it.

"Don't worry...Noting will happen I promise..I will get us more time..I promise!"

She said as the officers came back in and took him away from her. Quickly she went back to her office, and wrote up a dozen reports of great and believable progress with the Joker and got them onto the system and went to the warden. She had a long meeting with him and managed to convince him that she was getting somewhere with him and talked him into delaying the shock treatment and giving her three more weeks with the Joker.

[Mad Love]

Time dragged by when he was left alone in his cell, he had nothing to do, other than bang his head off the wall and watch the clock tick by every day, every single day until he got to see her. He knew she had done what he had asked, lied to the doctors, tell them everything they wanted to know, it had bought some time to set the wheels in motion for what he had planned. They had another session, but this time they where watched by other doctors, all taking notes, all watching how she did, how she made him talk. He could have sank her there and then, ruined her career, get her fired and destroy her life, but he didn't. Everything she asked him before them all, he gave an answer. Everything she demanded from him, he gave it up easily. All the doctors gasped and marveled. There where handshakes and congratulations as he watched as he was taking away, all the higher up's where all over her, wanting a piece of her, and seeing that, the look he gave her, one of anger, perhaps even hurt, but most certainly jealously.

The next meeting again, they where watched, this time from doctors not from Arkham, but from all around the country. She kept professional at all times, but he could see what the others could not, he could see that this is not what she wanted, to have him watched as if he was some kind of animal, all of them taking notes, having cameras out, the whole lot of them again looking a piece of her. Offers quickly where tossed her way, the woman who broke the Joker, the woman who made him submit. Words of cured where tossed around, others said it was time for him to stand trial and be killed for all he has done. All of it was rather boring as he just rolled his eyes to the back of his head and let out a sigh as he again was dragged away and again the look he gave her, one of nothing but hate, not for her, but for them, all of them.

The third week, it was the end of the line, no more waiting, no more games, no more stalling. He had not yet finished his story for her and that annoyed him the most, knowing she would have to wait even longer. Again he was dragged to her office, but this time it was like before, whatever she did, whoever she spoke to, she did a good job as it was just them. He watched, almost love struck as she came into the room and sat before him.

"Oh, how I have missed my Harley...."

Again he purred her name to her, like she was a kitten, his kitten and no one else's. She placed a sealed letter before him, his head looking down as she slides it across to him and opens it for him to read. His eyes leave her own as he reads the letter, from Frost, a little smile comes over his face.

"Seems they miss me...how sweet...they are coming to visit me..."

Harley raised an eyebrow, almost confused as there was no way they would allow anyone to visit him. She looked at him as he just looked at her and there was a light pause as he leaned a little bit closer and so did she, almost falling over the table to get to one another, but as they got closer and closer and almost right at one another he looks down at her pocket.

"What you got for me...a present...how sweet..."

He spotted the stuffed animal in her pocket, a gift, one not asked for, this was new.
